January 2020

We are excited about our new racing adventure for the 2020 season.  We have decided to make the move from asphalt to dirt racing.  We are excited for the change and can't wait to get on the DIRT.  We have purchased a 2016 Trak-star chassis and have had help from our former quarter midget racing buddies, Shay & Paul Miller, who have been racing dirt for years.  Hopefully my love a loose asphalt race car will help my driving skills in the dirt late model.  Fingers Crossed!  We just landed our first dirt late model sponsor with Larry Boshell of Boshell Home Builders of Dora, AL. We hope to add more sponsors to help us with travel, tires and just plain ole racing expenses.  If you know anyone send them my way.  We have an entire race car to fill up with sponsors.

.The 2019 race season is not getting off to a great start.  We purchased a chassis and rebuilt our open wheel thinking we had enough time to get it ready for the season opener on March 30th.  We were wrong so we missed the first race and then rains came on the April 13th race.  So we had extra time to get the car just right.....wrong. We couldn't get the handling right and then had overheating issues so we only race about 11 laps.  Hopefully the next race on May 11th will be better.  We are out of the points championship already but hopefully we will bring home a few wins this year.  NEXT UP:  Sayre Speedway on May 11

Special thanks to all my past help through the years:

HUNTSVILLE SPEEDWAY 2023

SAYRE SPEEDWAY WIN & 2018 CHAMPIONSHIP

August 26, 2018

We had a great race season. Learned a lot and raced with some great drivers. The hard work of my crew paid off and we won the Sayre Speedway Open Wheel track championship.  It's been a long time since I won a track championship.  We plan on running open wheels again next year and also working on a late model for sometime in the future. Hopefully, once out of school I plan on traveling more to race at Huntsville, Mobile and Pensacola.  Sponsorship is needed to help with these goals.  Become a member of a great race team with your sponsorship.  Contact Kellie or Shawn Brown if interested.  We look forward to another great race season in 2019.  Next up: :Awards Banquet in November.

February 2016 - We are finally on our way back to the race track in 2016.  After a year or so off due to personal injury and family illness we are back.  WBR is in the process of building a modified (open wheel).  Hopefully we will be ready for the season openers.  Stay tuned for photos and more updates.

04/30/14  - We are rebuilding!  WBR plans on being back on the track in June for the Nashville pro late model race.  Sponsors are welcome.  It would help us a lot to get back to racing.

April 2024 - The first race is behind us.  04/13/24 was our first race at Huntsville Speedway and we were not too far off the pace.  Qualified P2 and finished P4.  We were involved in an early wreck when a car chopped us off and caused damage to our front end.  Our car was toed out a couple of inches but we fought back to a P4 finish. The new NIX chassis was great.  It's the best car I have had and I hope to take it to victory lane this year. Next race up is 04/27/24 at Huntsville Speedway again.

It's January 2024 and we are getting ready for the race season.  Will has purchased a new bare chassis from Gary Nix and is looking forward to getting it ready to race.  WBR built a new motor in the 2023 season that practically took all year due parts shortages and delays so we didn't race until the end of the year but the old chassis just wasn't working for us any longer.  So out with the old 2004 Howe chassis and in with the new 2024 NIX chassis.  The new chassis is ready, been powder coated and now ready for the body and engine.  Shawn (dad/crew chief) will start fabricating the body this weekend and dropping the engine in.  We are excited to debut a new color scheme as a throwback to Uncle Darrell Brown from his Southern All Star /  ALLPRO racing days.  We hope it is good luck for us and we are able to be more competitive in 2024.

Special thanks to my crew.  I couldn't do what I love to do without your help.

  • Kellie Brown -  public relations
  • Jerry Kozera @ JK Motorsports - engine advisor & carb builder
  • Gary Nix - chassis builder

3/17/14 - Sponsorship news!!!  WBR is proud to welcome Deka batteries on board as sponsor for the 2014 race season.  We look forward to representing Deka as well as our other sponsors, JK MOTORSPORTS and AFCO Race products.

3/15/14 - Practice went good today.  The motor is awesome.  A big thanks to my engine builder JK Motorsports!  In the next weeks we will work on chassis setup and get the car ready for practice at Nashville on March 29th.

3/14/2013 - Got our motor in.  Now to get it in the car and ready for a practice session tomorrow if the rain holds off.  We are gonna work all night to get everything ready for practice at Sayre Speedway.  It's not a track we race at but it's close to home and we need to shake down the car.  The first race will be at Fairground Nashville on April 5th.

12/17/2013   WBR has signed up to race the pro late model series at the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, TN for the 2014 race season.  We hope to compete at Huntsville Speedway too if they reopen this season.  More dates to be added to our race schedule as soon as they are posted by the racetracks.  We are looking forward to a great race season.
